The junior high section includes grades seven through nine and focuses on the transition from elementary to secondary school as well as from childhood to young adulthood.  Our junior high students are taught to develop practical methods of study, organizational skills, acceptance of personal responsibilities, and greater spiritual growth.

The school year is divided into four nine-week grading periods, comprised of two semesters.  The students attend seven periods of classroom instruction each day.

Beginning in the ninth grade, instruction focuses on preparing our students academically, personally, and spiritually for college.  The Guidance Department personnel assist each student in selecting the academic schedule most appropriate to his or her needs, abilities, and long term goals.  Along with the core courses of English, social studies, and the higher mathematics and sciences, students are offered a variety of electives:  Spanish, choral music, computer science, health, family living, drama, speech, and visual arts.

The school offers several opportunities for leadership.  Students may audition for the praise band or be elected to serve in the Student Government Association.  At the end of the seventh grade students who have maintained a 3.5 grade point average in their courses may be elected by the faculty into the Junior Honor Society.

We also offer a well-organized social program.  Group activities, such as homecoming competitions, academic competitions, and field trips, promote school spirit and self-confidence, and build social skills.
