Welcome to 1st Grade at
Evangel Christian Academy. There is
something special about a young
child opening a new package of
crayons. They are full of wonder
and excited about the journey they
are about to begin. It is my
commitment to make the transition on
this journey as smooth as
possible.
We use A Beka curriculum, which has
a strong phonics base for reading.
During first grade we focus a lot of
our time on reading and memorizing
math facts and concepts. Spelling,
Language, Writing and Bible are also
studied as well as Science, History,
Community Helpers and Health. The
children enjoy a structured Physical
Education and Music everyday. Once
a week they have Library, Computer
and Character Education
